Even though Korea's winters are chilly 🥶 with early sunsets, there are also many days with sunny skies 🌞 little rain and lots of
exciting winter festivals to cheer you up and chase away the winter blues.🤩 Let’s get to know one of these winter festivals, the
Daegwanreung Snow Flake Festival.
The Daegwanreung Snow Festival was first hosted in 1993, being one of the earliest snow festivals to be held at the period.
Daegwanreung is often called the "Alps of Korea" because of its high valley at 700 meters, known for receiving heavy snowfall every year. ❄️
Visitors can experience the ice sculpture park, snowman park, take pictures at the snow land photo zone, and enjoy a variety of
hands-on experiences. 🧊
The celebration of ice features other winter activities as well, such as snow and ice sledding and traditional games. 🛷
The festival is also known for the various tasty foods visitors can enjoy there, such as buckwheat pancake, makguksu (buckwheat
noodles), grilled dried pollak, Daegwanreung Korean beef, trout sashimi, or potato ongshimi. 🍜
