โ๏ธ 1. Snow Sledding Ground โ๏ธ
with Wood Ski / Snow Sled /Seolpi
Have you ever tried wooden skiing?
It's traditional Korean skiing,
Koreans have been skiing for a long time.
You might have thought skiing started in Europe,,
No!,
A paper has been released that Ski started in the region of Korea!
- C. J. Luther's diagram of ski propagation -
A picture in C.J. Luther's "50 Years of Ancient Ski History" published in 1955 depicts
the path of ski sledding from northeastern Korea and central Siberia to the world.
"Korean sledding is a prototype of skiing that originated in areas including the Altai Mountains,"
wrote C.J. Luther, a German ski historian, in his book "50 Years of Ski Movement" written in 1955.
Written by Sungho Yi Ik during the Joseon Dynasty,
Sung-Ho-Sa-Sul(book) introduces Korean-style traditional skis,
'Mono maple Wood Ski' and snow shoes 'Seolpi'.
Mono maple wood ski, which was made to slide well in the snow
by cutting down mono maple wood and applying beeswax,
was an indispensable living tool in the snowy mountains of Gangwon-do.
The record that korean ancestors stabbed bears, tigers, and wild boars
in this primitive skiing is stated in the Holy Father's book.
We'll experience this traditional 'Wood Ski' and 'Sulpy' in the 'Korean Folk Village'.
You will ride 'Wood Ski', and make fun walking in snow with 'Sulpy'.
Of Course, We'll ride Ice Sled, too!
๐ฅ 2. Jang-Teo Lunch time ๐ฅ
There are many delicious food stores in the Korean Folk Village.
'Jang-Teo' is a traditional restaurant that reminds us of Korea's "jukmak",
which used to sell rice and alcohol to travelers and passers-by on the side of the common people's village in the past.
It sells traditional menus that were actually sold in 'Jang-teo' marketplaces in the past,
such as chicken skewers, marketplace rice soup (rice soup with meat that was sold a lot at the marketplace),
green onion pancakes, bibimbap, and makgeolli and so on.
You can also drink traditional drinks, with hanok interiors, at a traditional Korean teahouse.
You can also enjoy traditional Korean drinks such as Ssanghwatang, Jujube Tea,
Omija Tea, Sikhye, and shiquan-dabu-tang, as well as regular drinks such as americano and cafe latte.
If you have courage in new tastes, try these traditional drinks!
There are also souvenir shops selling various items,
so you can enjoy shopping after lunch!
๐3. Amusement Attraction ๐
Lastly, we're going to amusement attraction.
Do you want to experience a scary Korean traditional haunted house?
Bet how little you scream in the haunted house with a ghost in white robes and a ghost lion in a gat!
There are lots of fun rides from Vikings to D-O-F-Twist,
Crazy Swing, Carousel, Circular Train, etc!!
